About the house

No. 22 is a traditional stone Victorian mid-terrace house set back from and above the road and with views over Matlock towards Matlock Bath and Riber Castle.  It has a front porch, living room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor.

You come in from the porch into the living room which has a cosy wood burner in the original fire place, a TV with a Firestick, and lots of books, board games, jigsaws, maps and guidebooks.  The sofa can be used as an additional double bed if needed.

The dining room also has a large stone fireplace which originally housed the range, and a dining table with 4 chairs, plus a church pew if extra seating is needed.

At the back of the house is the kitchen which is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and larder fridge (sorry, no ice box or freezer).  There are enough pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils for up to 6 people.

The main bedroom at the front of the house is a double bedroom with fantastic views towards Riber Castle, Matlock and the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath.  The second bedroom has a small (4′) double bed and looks out over the back garden. A cot is available if needed (although you will need to assemble this yourself – instructions are provided!).

The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower and also houses the washing machine.

The house has a small front garden and the back yard has steps  has steps leading up to the back garden.  Parking is available on the street outside the house or close by.

As we only let friends and family stay at No. 22 and aren’t a trying to run a business, we trust that you will leave the house as clean and tidy as you would wish to find it, ready for the next people who visit to enjoy.
